If the smell is very bad it may be a crack or hole in your exhaust that has open up from the battering about that usually goes into removing a DPF.Turbo diesels tend to be quiet on the exhaust at idle speed as the turbo acts as a type of silencer so you have to feel or look for leaks or holes rather than listen. Was the pipe that you fitted coated in anything?High temp paint really stinks until it's had a couple of heat cycles through it to cure it properly.

It did pass MOT a day after fitting but i will take another look.I did paint it in high temp paint but this is a strong diesel smell.I guess i will give it a couple more weeks to see if the smell goes away.

Diesel smoke test at an MOT might well not pick up a leak or hole in your system,it's only measuring smoke not gases like a petrol and if you have any under trays or covers that stop the exhaust being visible then the tester can't remove them to check,it's not part of the test.
If you can smell exhaust fumes in the car I'd check around the exhaust manifold, turbo and down pipe first, before going under the car.
You do say diesel smell,I am assuming you mean exhaust and not fuel, none of the fuel lines were damaged whilst working on the exhaust?

I did a decat and removed centre silencer on my HDi about a year ago, and the exhaust fumes have been much stronger ever since. Obviously the cat and standard silencers 'stifle' the exhaust fume smells, so all you're getting now are the 'real' fumes the engine produces.
Nothing to worry about, unless of course the fumes are getting into the vehicle, which is a problem that needs sorting. As said above, could be a leak, but also look for bad door/ boot seals, or the tailpipe is too short / in the wrong position since modification
